Job Summary
SUMMARY: The HR Manager is a business partner for the leadership team at a world-class pulp and paper mill. This leader executes enterprise HR strategies for the mill by driving consistent people practices strong compliance accurate workforce operations and effective leader support all with a people- and results-centered approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead employee relations efforts in a unionized environment with fairness and consistency.
Support leadership and supervisor development initiatives.
Guide succession planning through execution of 9-box and talent planning processes.
Lead performance management efforts through execution of standardized processes.
Oversee consistent mill-wide recruiting and hiring processes.
Ensure employee data integrity through administration of the mills Paycom HRIS.
Administer mill-wide compensation and benefits programs.
Ensure compliance to employee handbook and HR policies.
Oversee compliance risk-management initiatives (i.e. audits).
Execute standardized HR workflows and standard operating procedures.
Facilitate implementation of health and wellness strategies that protect employees and organizational assets.
Manage the HR operating budget and ensure cost-effective value-driven departmental performance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead mentor and develop the mill HR team members.
Coach and mentor leaders throughout the facility.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent leadership skills including an ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
Ability to establish clear HR objectives that align with organizational goals.
Demonstrated ability to balance priorities that help meet short and long-term objectives.
Ability to stay abreast of and influence the dynamics within the organization to help achieve objectives.
Strong project- and change-management skills necessary to lead a variety of initiatives.
Outstanding communication skills which include an ability to quickly build trust and respect.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that utilize a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Credible HR advisor with a high level of personal and professional integrity.
Committed to the development of the organizations HR and Operational leaders.
Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
Minimum bachelors degree in a related field; masters degree is preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and travel up to 25% of the time.
Familiarity with a wide variety of HR and productivity software systems.
