Commercial Specialty Manager (Manager, Revenue Cycle)

This role is responsible for the management and control of the MVA Workers Comp and Commercial Specialty Follow-up units.

Personnel Management

• Direct management and supervision of the MVA Workers Comp and Commercial Specialty Follow-up units:
  • 0.5 Coordinator
  • 8 Patient Account Reps
  • 1 Admin Assistant
  • 1 Office Specialist
• Provide essential leadership direction pertinent to the operations of the department.
• Develop goals and objectives that promote a customer service culture.
• Hire motivate and coach a department of individuals dedicated to providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders.
• Ensure staff have adequate information and training to perform assigned tasks.
• Oversee staff with issues that arise with personnel patient accounts and organizational direction.
• Utilize Aeos and Aeos Analytics to the fullest to ensure success of units.
• Ensure that all tasks on the managers checklist are done daily weekly and monthly.
• Ensure that all staff have standard response guidelines which include pend times.

Operations Support

• Monitor department activities and provide recommendations that resolve problems and prevent future occurrences.
• Report and analyze trends.
• Work collaboratively to improve operational workflows billing processes individual patient accounts and overall all accounts receivable.
• Communicate effectively with all OHSU Health staff in order to provide assistance and quality service.
• Present complex information effectively to a range of audiences.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

• Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent years of education training and experience.
• 4 years experience in medical billing office or medical operations that included hands-on billing and collection and patient contact.
• 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of hospital and physician billing and reimbursement.
• Leadership skills to develop team concepts and consensus-building management styles.
• Able to supervise a number of people and multiple priorities in a highly complex environment.
• Clear effective verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of healthcare industry financial statistical indicators.
• Strong working knowledge of the clinical and coding aspects of the revenue cycle and the CDM.
• Must have strong analytical clinical and interpretive skills in areas of revenue capture CDM analysis and overall needs of Federal State and local healthcare initiatives.
• Ability to facilitate/manage projects independently utilizing project management principles and tools.
• Able to work in an autonomous environment and take initiative to do problem solving as required.

• Master of Healthcare Administration preferred.
• Position requires leadership analytical organizational and communication skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelors degree program.
• Demonstrated knowledge of hospital and physician billing and reimbursement.
• At least one year of Management experience in healthcare.
