Job Summary
Our multinational client a leading agribusiness firm who provides high-quality and innovative solutions in the agricultural and livestock sectors is looking to hire a Senior Finance and Tax Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and complete recording of all accounting transactions overseeing the timely month-end close of the accounting records preparing financial statements and management reports supporting budgeting processes and maintaining effective stock and financial controls. You will also manage tax filings coordinate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording and posting all transactions including accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger entries VAT and WHT.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports and ensure complete and accurate financial records.
- Perform foreign exchange (FX) revaluations as required.
- Manage statutory tax audits and ensure timely tax filings and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee data uploads and integration across systems such as Tagetik Tali and Avihance.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for all financial and corporate records.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register and post depreciation.
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and timely accruals.
- Support month-end closing processes to guarantee completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Oversee inventory and stock processes including stock counts and ensure accurate valuation of inventory and livestock.
- Improve system alignment and maintain data accuracy across financial platforms.
- Liaise with tax authorities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Must have at least a BSc in Accounting Finance or a similar field.
- A Professional Accounting qualification (ICAG ACCA or CIMA) is preferred.
- Must have a minimum of four (4) years work experience in the same or similar role.
- Experience within manufacturing FMCG agribusiness or trading environments is an added advantage.
- Must possess strong knowledge of accounting principles tax regulations and financial reporting.
- Possess strong organisational and time management skills.
- Must be analytical detail-oriented and possess the ability to problem solve.
- Possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel Word and PowerPoint) and major accounting software such as Sage Tally and QuickBooks.
