This position is for a Laboratory Inspector at the Chevron Oronite Plant. Successful candidates will start as an Inspector Trainee and progress through an established training program to the position of Laboratory Inspector. The Inspector will perform a wide variety of physical and chemical tests for quality control of an oil and gas additives plant including performance of analytical test methods instrument troubleshooting and repair as required and other general laboratory duties. Finished product process and incoming materials testing isthe primary focusof this Quality Control Department is also responsible for ensuring that samples meet all ASTM and Oronite Quality positionis union represented andworks a 12-hourrotatingschedule with weekend and holiday coverage for a typical 14 of 28 days worked per month. The Lab operates 24 hours/day 365 days/year with some overtimerequired.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Performinga wide variety of tests onincoming materials andplant process andfinished products. Test methods range from simple physical property tests to complex spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques.
Learning and performing analytical test methodsfollowing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) andASTMtest methods in addition to otherstandards.
Utilizing standard QA/QCpracticestoensureaccuracy and precision of results.
Validatingdata comparing results against specifications performing calculations and reportingtest results.
Checking and calibratingequipmentand performingpreventive or corrective maintenanceas needed.
Solving analytical problems.
Identifying reporting and then supporting correction of product quality issues.
Planning and organizing workload to optimize testing of product.
Working in collaboration with all other Laboratory personnel and Laboratory Management.
Working in collaboration with Operations Engineering Supply Chain and other organizations.
Always ensuringdata integrity.
Occasionaloperation of the Laboratory vehicle.
Always working safely.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalentwith threeyears of laboratory experience or aBachelors DegreeinaNatural Scienceor Technologyincluding college chemistry.
Valid Drivers License.
Able to work rotating shifts including weekends holidays and overtime.
Problem-solvingability.
Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to work in a safetysensitiveposition.
Ability to acquire and maintain a TWIC card.
Preferred Qualifications:
Refinery/Chemical Plant analytical lab experience.
Refinery/Chemical Plant Process Operations.
Relocation Options:
Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.

The anticipated hourly salary range for this position is $40.94. The selected candidates compensation will be determined based on their skills experience and qualifications.
