Job Summary

GD Resources LLC is seeking a qualified and experienced Licensed Boiler Inspector / Hydrostatic Testing Technician to support a U.S. Coast Guard project at Training Center (TRACEN) Petaluma California. The selected professional will perform inspections cleaning hydrostatic testing and reporting for fourteen (14) commercial boiler systems located throughout the installation.

This position requires a skilled technician with demonstrated experience in boiler inspection pressure vessel testing and compliance documentation. The successful candidate will work independently while adhering to all safety quality and government facility requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and hydrostatically test fourteen (14) commercial boilers in accordance with project requirements.
  • Descale and clean boiler heat exchangers prior to inspection.
  • Conduct visual inspections of heat exchangers tubing drums welds gaskets and associated components.
  • Remove lagging or insulation as necessary to facilitate inspection.
  • Isolate and blank off connected boiler systems when required.
  • Perform hydrostatic testing at 1.5 times the Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP).
  • Remove isolate or protect pressure relief valves pressure controls expansion tanks and sensitive instrumentation prior to testing.
  • Monitor pressure and temperature conditions throughout testing operations.
  • Identify and document deficiencies leaks corrosion or damaged components.
  • Return boilers to normal operating conditions upon completion of testing.
  • Complete and submit required inspection documentation including USCG Form CG-5519 Boiler Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain compliance with all site safety security and environmental requirements.
  • Restore work areas and equipment to pre-work condition.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid California C-4 (Boiler Hot Water Heating and Steam Fitting) License or C-36 (Plumbing) License.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience performing commercial boiler inspections and hydrostatic testing.
  • Experience working with hot water heating systems pressure vessels and boiler safety devices.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and maintenance documentation.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and testing procedures.
  • Ability to pass any required background screening and comply with government facility access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting federal military or Department of Homeland Security facilities.
  • Familiarity with Lochinvar KN Series and Smith boiler systems.
  • OSHA Safety Training (10-Hour or 30-Hour).
  • Experience completing government inspection reports and compliance documentation.
Requirements
  • Must provide all required tools testing equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must maintain professional conduct and appearance while working at a federal facility.
  • Must comply with all U.S. Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security safety and security requirements.
