POSITION:

Facilities Summer Help

SCHEDULE:

7:00 AM 3:30 PM Monday through Friday
June 1 August 7

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Supervisor of Facilities and Custodial Services

JOB GOAL:

Toassist district facilities and grounds teams in completing summer work to prepare for the 26-27 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous custodial maintenance or grounds experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of electrical plumbing and painting
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power equipment
• Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds in accordance with OSHA guidelines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and supervisors
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent or Board of Education

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grounds & Exterior Maintenance:

• Maintain all district grounds including mowing trimming edging and general landscaping
• Perform weed control mulching seeding and general lawn care
• Remove trash and debris from all exterior areas and empty outdoor receptacles
• Assist with athletic field preparation and maintenance
• Maintain sidewalks parking lots and entryways including removal of debris and minor repairs

Custodial Duties:

• Perform general cleaning of classrooms offices hallways and common areas
• Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly
• Empty interior trash and recycling
• Clean windows furniture lockers and surfaces as needed
• Assist with event setup and cleanup

Maintenance & Painting:

• Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks as assigned
• Complete interior and exterior painting projects including prep work and cleanup
• Remove graffiti and perform touch-up work as needed

General Responsibilities:

• Follow daily schedules and complete assigned work
• Work safely and follow all district procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work indoors and outdoors in hot cold and variable weather conditions
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals dust pollen and maintenance materials
• Frequent standing walking bending lifting and use of equipment
• Occasional work from ladders or elevated surfaces
• Moderate noise levels and fast-paced work environment during peak periods
