Ansell is looking for Manager Utility to be based in Kulim Kedah Malaysia. This position will assist to plan direct and organize facility and utility maintenance and engineering project functions in support of smooth and efficient operations in all plants and to ensure that the plant operation aspects that have impacts on environment are minimized or eradicated. Responsible to ensure all installations and equipment complies with local statutory safety requirements. Advice and motivates staffs to apply their efforts in carrying out assignments.

To ensure all facility and utility systems (including electrical mechanical water air and steam systems) operate efficiently safely and in compliance with production requirements for glove manufacturing. The role involves leading preventive maintenance energy optimization and reliability improvement programs to support continuous plant operations.

What your role will be in details

Reporting to the Manager Engineering you will:

• Oversee daily operation and maintenance of boilers air compressors chillers cooling towers water treatment plants DI/RO systems HVAC systems and waste treatment plants
• Monitor utility performance parameters (pressure flow temperature and quality) to ensure stable supply to production lines.
• Ensure compliance with DOE (Department of Environment) DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) and other relevant local regulatory requirements
• Plan and execute energy-saving and sustainability initiatives to reduce operational costs
• Lead facility upgrade capacity expansion and utility optimization projects (e.g. new boiler installation chiller upgrade compressed air system optimization).
• Under general direction has duties of managing directing and checking the work of your team. To develop flexibility stability and efficiency within the organization. Ensure contractor management fits business needs.
• Performs engineering duties such as the planning installation service and maintenance of process equipment. To create a foundation of attitude performance and knowledge within the engineering organization.
• Works directly with engineers in other disciplines to augment production size and value. Ensure that engineering services are effectively provided to the plants for smooth and effective plant operations. Provide work leadership and training to lower level professional and technical staff.
• Manage facility cleaning and janitorial services ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
• Manage operation processes to improve the efficiencies of all energy sources and site machineries. Set up a practical system to maintain good and accurate generation and/or operation of all energy sources and site machineries in all plants at all times. Build up company-wide energy consumption programs to achieve both annual environmental target and optimum energy utilization.
• Plan direct and monitor preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities so that the organization machinery and equipment operate reliably.
• Develop and implement repair and maintenance procedures; monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources prioritize spending and achieve timeliness reliability and safety standards. Ensure that the Engineering Workshop runs efficiently and engineering stocks are accurately controlled through stock movement analysis inventory value review etc.
• Ensure that all the controlled machineries utilities and systems on boilers chillers cooling tower air blowers generators aerated lagoon water-gate fire pump LPG distribution etc. are inspected and adjusted regularly.
• Ensure that the registration system for plants equipments and instruments is set up and maintained for effective control of their accurate usage and periodical calibration planning. Research evaluate and recommend new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance the capabilities of the maintenance/ service team.
• Estimate the cost time and resources required for repair projects managed with competitive prices; prepare work orders and monitor the progress of work against estimates. Ensure that the factory buildings are maintained in good conditions and at reasonable costs.
• Lead direct evaluate and develop maintenance staff so that repair and service activities are completed accurately safely and on time.
• Direct control and ensure that all the environmental issues are seriously attended to and all the employees are continuously communicated on such issues.

What will you bring

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering and having related working experience
• Experience in facility or utility engineering preferably in rubber glove chemical or process manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of boiler systems compressed air HVAC cooling tower and water treatment operations.
• Familiar with DOSH/DOE regulations Factory and Machinery Act and energy efficiency standards
• Ability to understand department strategy and directions and work towards improving plant performance.
• Ability to motivate the engineering crew of maintenance people.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/ ETP problems and determine root cause of equipment failures.
• Ability to analyze process issues and recommend actions to prevent chronic problems from recurring.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Able to coordinate with production supervisors and engineering contractors to get the job done.
• Knowledge of utility plant equipment GMP ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 requirements.
