We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic country Tax Manager to lead and manage all direct and indirect tax matters for our clients Malaysian entities. Reporting directly to the Group Tax division based in Singapore this pivotal role will oversee end-to-end tax compliance strategic planning and controversy management. The successful candidate will act as the key tax advisor for local operations ensuring strict compliance with local regulations while aligning local strategies with global corporate objectives.
Tax Strategy & Planning: Formulate and execute comprehensive local tax strategies that seamlessly align with the groups corporate tax objectives; collaborate closely with Group Tax on regional planning initiatives and structural projects.
Compliance & Financial Reporting: Oversee the full spectrum of tax affairs for all Malaysian affiliates to guarantee absolute compliance with local regulations. Manage the accurate preparation rigorous review and timely submission of all tax returns statutory filings and tax provisions.
Transfer Pricing Management: Spearhead local and regional transfer pricing (TP) compliance including the development review and maintenance of robust TP documentation policy implementation and benchmarking analyses.
Tax Controversy & Disputes: Serve as the primary liaison with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) managing tax and transfer pricing audits leading negotiations with tax authorities and resolving complex tax disputes efficiently.
Education & Credentials: Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting Finance Law or a related discipline. A professional certification (e.g. CPA MIA or CTIM) is highly advantageous.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of dedicated corporate tax experience with strong proven exposure to Malaysian tax legislation and transfer pricing methodologies.
Audit Expertise: Proven track record of successfully handling and resolving complex corporate tax and transfer pricing audits directly with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
Industry Exposure: Prior experience dealing with manufacturing-specific transfer pricing arrangements or complex supply chain operations is highly preferred.
Soft Skills & Leadership: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to manage relations with both internal senior corporate leaders and external regulatory bodies.
Adaptability: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to multitask prioritize effectively and thrive within a fast-paced high-volume and dynamic corporate environment.
