General Manager-Food Production
Job Summary
We are a Ghanaian indigenous agro-processing company listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) engaged in the production of food products supplements and household cleaning detergents. Our operations include the processing of cocoa Soya and cassava into well-known brands such as Brown Gold Soyabetix and Smark Look serving markets across West Africa and Europe. We also place strong emphasis on research and development to ensure the continuous improvement and competitiveness of our products. As part of our continued growth and commitment to delivering value to our clients and stakeholders we are seeking to appoint a General Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for the line with our internal talent development approach we are pleased to offer qualified staff within the company and the wider Group the first opportunity to express interest in this role. The position will be based in Accra and requires a highly experienced professional with strong leadership capability critical thinking skills a solid understanding of the food processing or manufacturing industry and a proactive approach to management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight for all activities of the company including Sales & Marketing
Create a performance matrix for all employees
Direct and coordinate the activities of the production function in the factory.
Responsible for participating in and practicing the continuous pursuit of excellence through lean manufacturing/sig sigma.
Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and sustainability.
Establish and implement improvements for cost reduction quality assurance and production in general.
Oversee sourcing of raw materials
Direct and assist with developmental or experimental production activities.
Arrange and coordinate employee involvement in addressing problem areas of production by utilizing problem-solving tools and skills.
Provide administration and supervision of the factory and ensure preventative maintenance.
Establish and implement predictive and corrective maintenance practices relating to production equipment.
Perform those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the company including budgetary administration employee safety employee counseling and motivation organizational goals and objectives planning organizing integrating and measuring the work performed within the company.
Conduct safety meetings with plant employees
