We are seeking an inquisitive and articulate History Teacher to join a high-achieving Humanities faculty in Cornwall. Set against a landscape defined by its unique Celtic heritage maritime legends and industrial Tin Coast history this school offers a stunning and culturally rich environment for a specialist. We are looking for an educator who can foster critical thinkers skilled researchers and empathetic global citizens.

Core Responsibilities

• Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-quality evidence-based lessons across KS3 KS4 and KS5 including GCSE History and A-Level History.

• Source Analysis Mastery: Developing students ability to interrogate primary and secondary sources identifying bias provenance and historical significance.

• Narrative Depth: Guiding students through a diverse and decolonised curriculumfrom the complexities of the British Empire and the Cold War to the social history of medicine and local Cornish heritage.

• Curriculum Innovation: Integrating Cornwalls unique local contextincluding its mining legacy and maritime tradeinto the broader national and international historical narrative.

• Exam Mastery: Mentoring examination cohorts through AQA or Edexcel specifications with a clinical focus on structured essay writing and the command of second-order concepts (cause consequence change and continuity).

• Historical Enquiry: Leading extracurricular initiatives such as History Mystery clubs debating societies and coordinating heritage trips to local sites like St Michaels Mount or the National Maritime Museum.
