Covington & Burling a distinguished global Am Law 35 firm is seeking a forward-thinking Business Development Manager to support the International Trade and National Security industry teams within its high-profile Regulatory practice.

This role is well suited for a proactive professional ready to step into a visible leadership position and make an immediate impact. Alongside a high-performing business development and marketing team the Manager will spearhead strategic business development marketing and communications initiatives.

The role in action:

Collaborate cross-functionally to identify priority clients execute targeted business development initiatives and support strategic planning budget oversight and quarterly practice reviews.
Manage and coordinate pitches RFP responses and client meeting preparation while tracking and reporting on business development performance and outcomes.
Support the successful integration of lateral attorneys through strategic positioning and execution in partnership with practice leadership.
Monitor regulatory industry and competitive trends to inform practice growth and support high-impact sponsorships speaking opportunities and thought leadership initiatives.
Provide comprehensive marketing and business development support including events content development directory and award submissions communications and database management.

We are seeking candidates who:

Bring 5 years of experience in business development marketing or other professional services settings; prior law firm experience is strongly preferred.
Hold a bachelors degree in a related field.
Exhibit excellent communication and leadership skills a proactive and accountable work style and the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
