Summary
We are seeking an organised and people focused HR Advisor to join our fast growing team in Chennai. This is a full-time office-based role reporting to the Human Resources Manager with functional collaboration across our global HR team in London.
You will be responsible for providing day-to-day HR advisory support to employees and managers ensuring smooth employee lifecycle processes and helping shape a strong people culture within our growing team.
Full time hours 10:30am 7.30pm
In office (Hybrid after successfully passing probation 1 day from Home).

Role
As an HR Advisor you will act as the first point of contact for HR queries in Chennai and support our India employee base across the full employee lifecycle. You will be responsible for supporting and communicating all HR matters to the London-based HR team. Youll work closely with the Regional Manager and HR Manager to ensure alignment of business practices alongside adherence to local laws.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Support
- Support recruitment effort where required.
- Conduct Background Verification checks on each prospective candidate before starting.
- Draft offers of employment
- Maintain communication and engagement with prospective candidates between point of offer and their start date.
- Administer and maintain an accurate candidate tracker
Onboarding
- Onboard all new joiners to our Companys system: EOR Rippling and our internal HR system BambooHR
- Drafting of contractual documentation
Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations
- Provide HR advisory support to employees and line managers on policies procedures and HR best practices
- Maintain accurate HR records and employee data across all systems
- Drafting confirmation and employment letters
- Support with leave management and maintenance of holiday calendars
- Help maintain documentation including company benefits induction documentation and policy processes on Confluence pages for easy access to employees.
Employee Relations & Policy Support
- Support the HR Team in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures
- Provide guidance on employee relations issues in alignment with India labour law
- Escalate ER matters to the Regional Manager and HR Team.
Performance & Development
- Assist with performance assessment cycles onboarding plans and probation periods.
- Track completion of Indian mandatory training
- Help Source training providers and develop training and development plans
HR Projects & Global Collaboration
- Support the move from our EOR to direct employment including setting up employees benefits and payroll.
- Suggest and support with local employee engagement initiatives
- Contribute to the HR EOS Rocks
- Support HR reporting
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data
Required Qualifications & Experience;
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related (preferred)
- 25 years of experience in an HR Advisor or Generalist role.
- Strong working knowledge of India labour law and HR compliance
- Experience in a technology fintech or startup environment desirable
- Prior experience supporting HR operations
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
- Strong interpersonal skills

- High attention to detail and organisation
- Professional fluency in English (both written and spoken)
