Job Summary

Introduction

The following opportunity exists for a seasoned & self-driven Finance Professional with a proven track record in the field. Our client is an International Mining House where an opportunity exists for a dedicated hardworking and enthusiastic and results driven individual to join one of their mines based in Delmas. They are offering a rewarding and exciting opportunity within the Mining space for an experienced individual with a proven track record in the category of Financial Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Job

The incumbent will be accountable for the accounting operations of the Mine.

Key Performance Areas

Manage the financial planning cost control and reporting services
Daytoday accounting processing and transactional finance
Preparation of journals reconciliations and monthend close
Debtors creditors and cashbook management
The preparation of management accounts and internal reporting
Analyze applications received from departments for capital expenditure.
Perform financial calculation of capital expenditure applications.
Manage the capital expenditure process according to company policies and time frames.
Compile monthly capital expenditure reports for internal and external role players.
Execute capitalization of final fixed assets according company policies and procedures within stipulated time frames.
Manage training/coaching activities in the department.
Set annual and monthly goals objectives and targets with and for subordinates.
Do regular performance/development reviews.
Manage employee(s) within section
Ensure compliance to established business and government regulations

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Diploma or Degree in Accounting Finance or equivalent (e.g. BCom Accounting National Diploma in Accounting or Financial Management)
Honours Degree In Accounting or CIMA / CFMA will be an advantage
7 – 8 years’ experience
Experience in mining will be advantageous

International Financial Reporting Standards and MS Office package.

Remuneration

Will be according to qualifications and experience and will include competitive conditions of employment. Salary will be market related
