Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Network Specialist who will be responsible for establishing and strengthening network infrastructure capabilities across the Africa region. This role focuses on ensuring stable secure and efficient network operations aligned with company standards risk management practices and compliance requirements.
The person will develop recommend and enforce network controls support infrastructure projects manage risks and ensure the reliability and performance of critical IT systems across multiple sites. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and service providers to enhance network performance security and scalability in line with business objectives
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management to plan lead and evaluate network infrastructure projects and initiatives across the Africa region.
- Respond to complex network incidents troubleshoot issues and coordinate with service providers to restore services.
- Provide guidance on the design implementation and enforcement of network controls across infrastructure environments including servers cloud platforms and communication systems.
- Assess network-related risks design mitigation controls document gaps and provide remediation strategies with progress tracking.
- Lead the technical implementation of network infrastructure solutions and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Stay up to date with network technologies infrastructure trends and advancements.
- Evaluate current and future network requirements and recommend solutions to improve performance security and reliability across sites.
- Manage service providers oversee vendor relationships and ensure effective delivery of network services.
- Participate in strategic planning and lead tactical execution of infrastructure and technology deployments.
- Assist with budget planning resource allocation and approval of infrastructure-related expenditures.
- Represent network infrastructure in meetings committees and cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Systems Engineering Cybersecurity or related discipline.
- 7 years’ experience in IT with at least 5 years working with enterprise network infrastructure.
- Certifications such as A N CCNA/CCNE (or equivalent) and ITIL 4.0.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls wireless networks and connectivity technologies.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (e.g. Azure AWS) and virtualised systems.
- Understanding of network security principles risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in network monitoring troubleshooting and incident response.
- Strong skills in network design policy development vendor management and infrastructure optimisation.
- Ability to assess infrastructure risks identify vulnerabilities and implement effective controls.
- Experience working with vendors such as Cisco Fortinet Huawei or similar.
- Mining industry experience advantageous but not required.
