Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical / Stroke Stepdown
Location:Utica NY
Shift: Day Shift 12 Hours (6:30 AM 7:00 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown Unit. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in stroke care and stepdown settings with the ability to manage complex patient conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care for stroke and stepdown patients
- Monitor and assess patients with neurological and medical conditions
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies
- Utilize clinical equipment such as IV pumps NG tubes and feeding tubes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Document patient care using electronic medical records
- Float to other units as required
- Maintain adherence to infection control and safety protocols
Required Qualifications:
- Active New York RN License (must be in hand)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical with stroke stepdown experience
- Travel experience required
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS Certification
