We are seeking an inspiring and technically gifted Art Teacher to join a vibrant department in Worcestershire. Set against the backdrop of the Malvern Hills and the countys rich heritage in porcelain and craftsmanship this school provides an idyllic yet ambitious environment for a specialist. We are looking for an artist-teacher who can guide students from their first charcoal marks in Year 7 to the sophisticated conceptual portfolios required for A-Level and University entry.
Core Responsibilities
Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-energy practical lessons across KS3 KS4 and KS5 covering a broad spectrum of disciplines including drawing painting mixed media and sculpture.
Technical Instruction: Providing expert demonstrations in specialized techniques such as printmaking (linocut/etching) ceramics (hand-building/glazing) and digital manipulation using the Adobe Creative Suite.
Critical & Contextual Studies: Developing students ability to analyse and respond to the work of others from the Old Masters to contemporary installation artists and local Worcestershire artisans.
Portfolio Development: Mentoring GCSE and A-Level cohorts through the AQA or OCR specifications ensuring individual projects are cohesive personal and meet rigorous assessment objectives.
Exhibition Coordination: Leading the curation of the annual Summer Art Show transforming school spaces into professional galleries to celebrate student achievement with the wider community.
Extracurricular Arts: Driving engagement through after-school clubs Artist in Residence workshops and coordinating trips to major galleries such as the Tate Modern or the Ashmolean.
