Job Description Summary
The instructor is responsible for the coordination planning preparation presentation and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities during the day evening or weekend via instructional delivery formats to include face-to-face hybrid online and remote. Face-to-face and hybrid classes may be offered on any Prince Georges Community College campus or at off-campus locations. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development academic advising and curriculum design. The instructor performs all other duties as directed by the Dean the President or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Master of Science degree in Nursing. Active R.N. licensure or eligibility for active R.N. licensure in Maryland. Two years of teaching experience in nursing education. Certification in area of Nursing expertise preferred. Experience implementing high-impact teaching practices preferred. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Extent and relevance of graduate educational preparation to anticipated teaching assignment. Relevance of teaching experience to anticipated teaching assignments in classroom and clinical settings. Relevance of non-teaching experience to anticipated teaching assignments. Evidence of quality teaching including faculty evaluation scores and ratings teaching awards earned courses designed developed and/or revised etc. Evidence of knowledge of and experience in employing instructional methods and techniques appropriate to diverse student learning styles. Evidence of currency in professional discipline through continuing education professional development and/or scholarly activity. Evidence of ability to teach effectively within and contribute positively to a diverse multi-ethnic multi-cultural student population and campus environment. Familiarity with philosophy and goals of Associate Degree Nursing Programs. Pertinent experience in nursing i.e. clinical competence specialty computers and simulation technology.
