The opportunity
The Drainage Maintenance Officer plays a key hands on role in keeping Hobsons Bays drainage network safe reliable and functioning at its best. Working as part of the Civil Maintenance team this position carries out pit cleaning drain maintenance equipment operation and contractor coordination to ensure our communitys assets remain in excellent condition.
What youll be doing
- Performing proactive drain cleaning using an eductor truck and other equipment
- Installing and replacing damaged pit lids safely and efficiently
- Assessing contractor work requirements and issuing jobs as needed
- Operating maintaining and reporting defects on all plant tools and vehicles
- Carrying out daily allocated tasks autonomously while following all safety requirements
What youll need to succeed
- Current Truck Licence and Victorian Drivers Licence
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Proven outdoor labouring experience
- Ability to work safely independently and follow maintenance standards
- Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) drainage maintenance practices and OH&S
