APPOINTMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT SPECIALIST HUMAN CAPITAL COMMITTEE MEMBER

The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is a regulatory body established in terms of the Civil Aviation Act No. 13 of 2009. The SACAA Board is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to serve as an independent specialist member of its HUMAN CAPITAL COMMITTEE (HCC) a committee of the Board.

We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to serve as an Independent Member of the Human Capital Committee (HCC).

Purpose of the Role

The Independent Member will assist to provide strategic oversight guidance and expert advice on human capital management remuneration governance and related policies. The role supports the Committee in ensuring best practices in HC change management and alignment with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements. A specialist member is not a Board member as defined in the Civil Aviation Act and as appointed by the Minister but serves in the committee for the purposes outlined above.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A relevant degree in Human Resource / Capital Management or a related field
  • At least 10 years proven experience as an HR / HC practitioner three of which must be in a public entity
  • Demonstrated experience serving on a Board or Human Resources Committee or an equivalent committee within a public entity
  • Strong knowledge of HR governance labour legislation and organizational development
  • High ethical standards integrity and independence of thought

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information

Term of Appointment

The appointment will be for a fixed term subject to applicable policies and governance frameworks.

Remuneration

Remuneration will be in accordance with applicable guidelines for committee members and as approved by the Minister of Transport and determined by the Board.
