Overview
Absolute Pets is the leading pet care retailer in South Africa with over 200 stores nationwide. The Company caters to a high-end customer with premium products for pets ranging from pet food to health & wellness products and accessories. The successful candidate will largely be providing support with the processing of supplier vouchers Support Office creditors and rent and general administrative support within the finance department.
The position will report into the Senior Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing and reconciliation of monthly financial information.
- Review of various financial processing and reconciliations.
- Review of stores payroll.
- Management of the insurance function.
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports.
- Analysing financial data to identify trends assess performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Management of the GRV/RTS and Creditors teams.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key creditors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with suppliers contracts and agreements.
- Cash flow and forward cover management.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Assist with the execution of the budget/forecast.
- Assist with the external audit processes and address any control deficiencies.
- Ad hoc projects.
- Provide financial guidance and support to other departments within the company.
Qualifications and experience
- CA with 1 year post articles experience
- Articles completed with Big 4 firm preferred.
- Exceptional excel skills are a pre-requisite.
- Experience working in retail is advantageous.
- IQ Retail experience is advantageous.
