About the Role

Nearmap is a global leader in providing location intelligence technology operating across North America and ANZ. We are looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst who excels across the disciplines of data strategy and execution.

Reporting into the Director GTM Finance (ANZ) this role is pivotal in connecting data-driven insights with commercial decision-making across the ANZ Go-to-Market (GTM) function. You will translate complex analysis into clear recommendations that shape strategy enable operational efficiency and support execution at scale.

Working cross-functionally with key ANZ stakeholders including Sales and Customer Success leadership you will develop a deep understanding of the strategic operational and financial drivers of the Australian business research and analyse emerging trends and performance outcomes identify improvement opportunities and take a hands-on approach to validating and implementing solutions.

The focus of the role is to strengthen the analytical foundation of the ANZ GTM function improving visibility of revenue performance drivers enhancing performance reporting and where applicable supporting the wider Global Commercial Finance and RevOps teams in refining GTM systems and processes. You will play a critical role in shaping the operational landscape supporting month-end insights and ensuring our ANZ GTM teams are empowered with timely accurate and actionable data.

What Youll Do

Revenue Reporting Forecasting and Analysis

  • Attend and contribute to weekly ANZ forecast calls with Sales and Customer Success leaders interpreting and sense-checking pipeline and revenue numbers.
  • Contribute to the weekly Flash Report and other regular reporting cycles.
  • Understand and interpret key ANZ metrics including new bookings churn downgrade retention and price increase performance.
  • Together with the data team design and maintain dashboards and visual reporting templates to surface financial performance trends patterns and insights to support ANZ GTM leadership decision-making.
  • Partner with senior management to enable data-driven decisions identifying data requirements across market analysis planning monitoring financial modelling pricing and reporting.
  • Support the Director GTM Finance (ANZ) by contributing to budgeting forecasting and reporting for consolidation.

Commission & Month-End Support

  • Provide ANZ-specific context and input into commission calculations and month-end processes partnering with the global Commercial Finance team to ensure accuracy and local relevance.
  • Interpret ANZ-specific commission structures and edge cases flagging issues and opportunities as they arise.

Strategic Analysis

  • Deliver analysis and insights on key strategic issues on an ad-hoc basis including market intelligence competitive landscape product and pricing optimisation and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with GTM Product and Finance teams to support strategic planning investment decisions and commercial growth initiatives.
  • Build business cases and scenario models to assess new markets partnerships and GTM strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

  • Own key stakeholder relationships with ANZ GTM leadership supporting business case development and KPI reporting.
  • Deliver insights and recommendations that inform strategic and operational decision-making across the ANZ GTM organisation.

Process Evaluation & Improvement

  • Working alongside the RevOps team assess evaluate and optimise business processes anticipating requirements identifying gaps and developing solutions that drive efficiency accuracy and scalability.

Global Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global business partners ensuring consistent understanding of data flows inputs and outputs from multiple systems.
  • Act as a bridge between ANZ and global teams to standardise reporting and analytical processes.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff members within the team where applicable.

Qualifications :

Experience

  • 5 years experience in commercial finance business analytics or commercial operations ideally within a SaaS or technology business.
  • Go-to-market or commercial finance experience is highly regarded familiarity with pipeline renewals commissions bookings and churn metrics is a strong advantage.

Skills

  • Strong commercial acumen with deep analytical skills.
  • Lateral and critical thinking; ability to self-start and execute on non-process driven outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build and manage complex financial models.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-makers and present data-driven insights with clarity and impact.
  • Experience in revenue forecasting financial analysis and a solid understanding of KPIs and commercial drivers.
  • Hands-on experience with BI data warehousing statistical or reporting tools.
  • Experience with FP&A tools such as Adaptive TM1 or Dynamics preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems; Salesforce experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SQL Tableau or similar analytics and visualisation platforms preferred.

  • Comfortable operating outside of standardised procedures in a fast-moving environment.
  • Growth-oriented mindset with a drive to continuously improve and adapt.
  • Able to read a room knows when something needs to be escalated and acts on it.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial topics clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.

Education

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business or a related field.
  • Financial qualification favourable but not essential.
