Subject to formal establishment amendment a vacancy may arise for a Wing Commander (Any Profession) to serve as SO1 Parliamentary Engagement at Strategic Engagement in London MOD Main Building on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 28 September 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status and formal establishment amendment).
Brief description role:
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme as directed by Ministers on behalf of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Trust.
- Plan oversee and support engagement between the RAF and All-Party Parliamentary Groups for the Armed Forces in support of RAF aims and objectives.
- Provide targeted engagement opportunities for parliamentarians aligning with RAF messaging to enhance understanding and secure the best outcomes for Defence.
- Develop and support enduring relationships between the RAF and a diverse range of Parliamentarians promoting Defence and RAF reputation.
- Input and attendance at all Joint events which includes the introductory briefings alumni reception sponsors dinners and graduation ceremony.
- Termly input to AFPS Ministerial Submissions and other staff work as required.
- Support Department of State as required to meet Ministerial ambition and intent.
- Be prepared to support wider parliamentary engagement activity.
