Your New Role and Responsibilities

LAND 156 is a flagship Australian Defence initiative delivering a cutting-edge Counter-Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (CsUAS) capability. This program will protect ADF personnel and assets from evolving drone threats through a layered system of sensors effectors and command-and-control technologies.


Reporting to the Program Manager the Subcontracts Manager is a key member of the program leadership team responsible for shaping supplier engagement and industry capability in alignment with the customers strategy. The role leads subcontractor management across the CUAS/CsUAS programs.

Working closely with the broader program leadership team the Subcontracts Manager manages Defence industry engagement and maintains a strong understanding of relevant capability areas to enhance Leidos Australias service offering through the integration of new capabilities. The role has a specific focus on the LAND 156 program requiring the successful candidate to develop a strong understanding of Defence perspectives and strategic objectives related to the LAND 156 capability.

  • Lead and manage Land 156 supplier engagement growth and subcontractor relationships to meet customer requirements.
  • Execute the Land and Sea Systems strategic vision and associated management processes.
  • Develop and manage key customer supplier and strategic partner relationships to support new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong effective relationships with Defence stakeholders to identify qualify and grow Defence industry opportunities.
  • Contribute to tender responses (RFT/RFQ) and provide input into short and longterm business strategies to strengthen Leidos Australias market position.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
  • Confident written and verbal communicator capable of presenting to individuals and large groups.
  • Proven ability to build maintain and leverage internal and external professional networks.
  • Highly skilled in listening to customer needs synthesising information from multiple sources and tailoring responses for varied audiences.
  • Understanding and/or experience in the CUAS/CsUAS domain and familiarity with Defence Capability Acquisition processes and relevant agencies.
