Chapter 74 Collision Technology Instructor (Anticipated 08/31/2026)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide targeted whole group small group and/or individual instruction to students in Collision Technology
- Ensure that instructional activities are aligned with the MA CVTE Frameworks and clearly related to vocational competencies and learning objectives for skill development in lesson plans
- Conduct educational assessments (traditional and performance-based) and provide regular and prompt feedback to students regarding their progress
- Design relevant units in core subject areas of instruction and integrate academic learning in technical areas
- Establish and maintain an organized and supportive classroom and lab/shop environment where all students actively participate and show respect for teacher and one another
- Maintain order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities
- Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment textbooks materials supplies and facilities
- Attend and actively participate in staff/faculty meetings and provide input regarding the planning of instructional goals objectives and methods
- Maintain up-to-date files including student records (via Powerschool); student competencies (via Skills Plus) and substitute folders
- Utilize SkillsUSA to assist students to develop those attitudes and skills in citizenship leadership and human relations which will contribute to their personal and occupational success
- Provide after-school assistance to students serving make-up or detention according to contractual language
- Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum five years recent full-time work experience or equivalent in Collision Repair
- Massachusetts Department of Education Chapter 74 licensed or licensable in Collision Repair Possess teaching experience or demonstrable teaching ability
- Ability to maintain student discipline and ability to work with diverse populations
- Understanding of Massachusetts Vocational Frameworks (Collision Repair) 10-hour OSHA certified /certifiable ASE Certified/certifiable B2-B5 and MA Appraiser License Preferred
- At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship residency or work visa required
