Job Summary

Reports to: Principal/Head of School

General Description and Goals:
The Special Education Partner Paraprofessional provides direct support to students withdisabilities in an inclusive setting. They work under the supervision of a special educationteacher to assist students in meeting their academic behavioral and social goals andsupport students with diverse learning needs by reinforcing instructional goals assisting
with classroom management and providing individualized academic or behavioral supportas directed by professional staff. Responsibilities include data collection assisting with lifeskills implementing behavioral strategies and collaborating with educators to foster aninclusive learning environment. This role requires professionalism adaptability and acommitment to maintaining confidentiality while supporting student growth and well-being.


Responsibilities
1. Support students in providing IEP Grid B services as directed by licensed specialeducator reinforcing instructional goals and IEP objectives.
2. Provide small group or individual instruction under licensed educator supervision.
3. Assist students with assignments by providing explanations breaking down tasksand reinforcing concepts as identified in the students IEP.
4. Adapt or modify materials as needed to align with students Individualized EducationPrograms (IEPs).
5. Assist with setting up instructional materials technology and accommodations ( speech-to-text software).
6. Utilize appropriate technology to support instruction and documentation.
7. Provide one-on-one or small-group support to reinforce learning.
8. Implement behavior management strategies as outlined in students BehaviorIntervention Plans (BIPs).
9. Reinforce positive behavior and provide redirection when necessary.
10. Monitor and collect academic and behavioral data as directed and report findings tothe special education team.
11. Work closely with the special education teacher and collaborate with generaleducation teachers therapists and other staff to support students learning andaccommodations.
12. Provide feedback on student progress challenges and behaviors to help informinstructional strategies.
13. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information in compliance with FERPA andIDEA regulations.
14. Encourage independence by helping students develop self-advocacy and problem-solving skills.
15. Participate in professional development and apply learned strategies to enhancestudent support.
16. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors in accordance with schoolpolicies and the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications - Required:
1. Education: High School Diploma or GED.
2. Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associates Degree or apassing score on one of the two following Formalized Standardized Assessments:
ParaPro Assessment ( or WorkKeys Certificate ofProficiency for Teacher Assistants( Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
4. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have suchauthorization by their first day of employment


Qualification - Preferred:
1. Associates or Bachelors Degree.
2. Certification as a teacher

The start and end times of BPS schools vary as do the lengths of the school day. Some BPS
