Join our team
We are looking for a Full-stack Software Engineer (1-year maternity cover) to support the development of critical software tools for our vacuum deposition systems and industrial process this role you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver robust well documented solutions that enable our next generation quantum processor manufacturing.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop maintain and debug full-stack software for controlling various industrial vacuum deposition chambers
- Build software for industrial process data collection
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and physicists
- Identify software requirements across teams and document delivered software solutions
Professional and personal qualifications
You thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration with electrical mechanical and process engineers and you are eager to learn complex industrial systems and transform them into simple efficient user experiences. You also enjoy being hands on during deployment and are keen to participate directly at the hardware location.
Your qualifications and experience may include:
- BSc or MScinSoftware Engineeringor Automation Engineering
- 3 years of post graduate experience
- Indepth knowledge of Python
- Experience with GitHub
- Strong understanding of software architecture
- Ability to translate user requirements into meaningful userfriendly software UIs
- Proficient in data processing
- Consistently documents delivered software thoroughly
- Knowledge of automation and control theory including practical experience working with sensors drives and other hardware components
- Preferably experience with PLC systems
- Preferably experience with UltraHighVacuum (UHV) systems

You will join a highly skilled Opto Electrical Engineering team (5 colleagues) and will be reporting into the Head of Mechanical Engineering. The environment is hands on collaborative and deeply interdisciplinary with teams working closely to develop and refine the hardware and processes behind our next generation quantum manufacturing systems.
