Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Execute the Safety Management System for achieving the highest possible health and safety standards and performance in the designated department
- Provide health and safety information advice and interpretation for the new and amended health and safety legislations in-house rules and procedures
- Carry out regular safety inspections with interactive communication and discussion with frontline staff; and consolidate and analyse the inspection findings
- Assist in planning arranging and organising safety promotional activities and training within the department to enhance safety awareness and interests of site staff
- Carry out safety audit for the department as requested to ensure the safety performance compliance with operational standards
- Explore and advise new safety technology to support continuous improvement
Requirements
- Higher Diploma in Engineering / Safety Management or a related discipline
- A minimum of 8 years experience in major Civil / Permanent Way / Power Distribution / E&M works of which 2 years should be in safety field and 3 years in supervisory level
- Possession of the qualification stipulated under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Regulations is a must
- Knowledge of safety management is essential
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Good stakeholder management with experience of working in a cross-functional working environment
Remarks
- Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
Candidates with lower qualification but extensive experience will also be considered
