Summary
- The Housing Solutions Officer is integral to the Councils statutory homelessness prevention and relief services. This role involves conducting comprehensive housing assessments (s189A) creating personalized housing plans and offering expert advice and solutions to individuals facing homelessness. The position ensures compliance with the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and contributes to the Councils Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy maintaining lawful and transparent operations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality statutory prevention and relief service including devising and reviewing Personalized Housing Plans in accordance with s189A Housing Act 1996.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Housing Act 1996 parts VI and VII case law government guidance welfare benefits and related legislation.
- Ensure all case notes records and decisions are accurate unbiased and compliant with data protection and statutory requirements.
Requirements
Experience:
- Writing statutory decision letters.
- Handling homelessness casework.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of housing benefit claims and local housing allowance.
- Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
Additional Information
- Working Hours: 8 hours per day
- Location: Runnymede Civic Centre Station Road Addlestone Surrey KT15 2AH United Kingdom
- Work Pattern: 2 days remote 3 days in the office
- Interview Details: Interviews will be held onsite at the Runnymede Civic Centre in Addlestone. Parking is available at the Addlestone One Multi-storey car park at the candidates expense. The interview panel will consist of 2 managers.
- Payment Schedule: Bi-weekly
- Application Deadline: The role closes on 25th March 2026 apply ASAP.
