30% - Staff Supervision and Hiring- Serve as a liaison between Facility Assistants Facility Supervisors and the Assistant Director of Operations.
- Ensure student employees adhere to the Student Employee Discipline and Work Performance Guidelines outlined in the Facility Manual.
- Maintain accurate employee records including certifications contact information and performance documentation.
- Assist in recruitment and hiring of new student employees including reviewing applications scheduling and conducting interviews and notifying candidates of hiring decisions.
20% - Schedule Management- Create and maintain employee schedules for Facility Assistants and Facility Supervisors during Fall and Spring semesters as well as during extended break periods (Winter Break and Summer).
- Monitor and manage the weekly trade board by reviewing and approving or denying shift trade and pickup requests and updating the schedule as needed to ensure daily accuracy.
- Provide shift coverage for Facility Assistants and Facility Supervisors when needed including filling shifts on short notice or when an employee is absent without prior notice.
20% - Staff Training and Meetings- Maintain and update training materials including developing new material revising existing content and distributing updated resources to staff.
- Lead training sessions for newly hired Facility Assistants and Facility Supervisors and under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Operations provide ongoing training and development support for returning staff.
- Assist in facilitating monthly staff meetings and annual staff training.
15% - Equipment Management- Maintain equipment inventory logs coordinating replacement of equipment as necessary.
- Oversee damaged equipment tracking and resolution.
- Maintain and organize lost and found items including coordinating donation pickups and deliveries when appropriate.
15% - Special Event Administration- Assist in coordinating and facilitating KU Recreation Services special events across campus including tabling events and recruitment activities such as facility tours.

Position OverviewKU Recreation Services provides a variety of resources for wellness physical fitness team and individual sports group fitness classes and personal training. Indoor and outdoor facilities accommodate a broad range of participants from beginners looking to improve their health with low impact exercise to seasoned athletes aspiring to push their physical abilities to the next level.
The Facility Program Manager (FPM) plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center (ASRFC). FPMs are responsible for enforcing and implementing departmental policies and procedures completing assigned operational tasks and ensuring that all KU Recreation Services participants can safely and fully enjoy the facilities programs and services offered.
FPMs are expected to work 12-15 hours per week which may include a combination of scheduled office hours and flex hours as operational needs arise throughout the Fall and Spring semesters as well as during Fall Winter and Spring breaks. Summer semester employment is optional and staffed by those who are available.
The FPM must hold a current CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within one month of hire.

Position RequirementsDuring the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Employment Conditions(1) Student employees are
not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
