Job Summary
What youd be doing in this role
As Canva continues to scale globally the complexity of the systems that power our product grows with it. The Platform organisation builds and operates the foundational technology that enables Canva teams to ship quickly reliably and securely for hundreds of millions of users around the world.
As Director of Technical Program Management youll lead the programs that enable Platform to scale. Youll partner closely with senior engineering and product leaders to define delivery strategy drive alignment across complex initiatives and ensure our most critical platform investments deliver meaningful impact.
Youll also lead and develop a team of Technical Program Managers who run high-impact programs across infrastructure developer platforms reliability systems and internal tooling helping teams move faster while maintaining operational excellence.
This role is focused on:
Leading large cross-organisation technical programs that underpin Canvas platform and infrastructure capabilities
Setting strategy and operating models for how complex Platform initiatives are delivered across multiple engineering teams
Managing and developing a team of Technical Program Managers amplifying impact across the organisation
Partnering with senior leaders across Engineering Product and Infrastructure to align priorities and drive delivery at scale
Navigating complex technical and organisational challenges managing dependencies risks and delivery trade-offs across programs
Driving accountability for outcomes while creating clarity and alignment across stakeholders
Shaping the TPM craft at Canva by developing playbooks delivery frameworks and program management best practices
Youre probably a match if
You bring significant experience leading large-scale technical programs within high-growth SaaS or technology organisations
Youve driven complex cross-functional initiatives across areas such as infrastructure developer platforms reliability performance optimisation or internal tooling
Youre a strong people leader who has built and developed high-performing TPM teams
Youre comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels shaping long-term direction while helping teams execute effectively
You bring exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills and are able to lead through influence across engineering organisations
You thrive in fast-moving environments and bring curiosity pragmatism and a drive for continuous improvement

The Platform Organisation builds and scales the foundational systems that power Canva. This includes infrastructure developer platforms reliability systems and internal capabilities that enable Canva teams to ship quickly and confidently. The Technical Program Management function plays a critical role in orchestrating complex initiatives across Platform ensuring teams stay aligned dependencies are managed effectively and our biggest technical investments deliver meaningful impact.
