Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Technical Officer Communications & Security (BIM) to join our team. This role focuses on delivering highquality BIM documentation for communications and electronic security systems across complex building and infrastructure projects. You will lead Revit-based production coordinate across disciplines and support digital delivery standards including SharePoint setup and administration for project teams.
How youll make a difference
- Produce and coordinate 2D/3D deliverables for communications and security systems including device layouts schematics cable containment backbone pathways comms/ICT room layouts details and schedules.
- Lead Revit-based model setup linking worksets views/sheets annotation and family management for communications/security packages.
- Conduct clash detection and model QA (e.g. Navisworks) create viewpoints/issues and participate in coordination workshops.
- Apply BIM standards (BEP/EIR naming conventions LOD/LOI) and maintain drawing control revisions and transmittal readiness.
- Collaborate with engineers discipline leads and external partners to resolve interfaces and constraints early.
- Set up and administer SharePoint Online project sites including libraries folder structures metadata views permissions/groups and version control.
- Support continuous improvement of templates libraries standards and digital delivery methods.
- Mentor and guide junior technical officers in BIM and documentation workflows.

- Significant experience delivering communications and electronic security documentation on buildings/infrastructure projects.
- Advanced Revit proficiency for services modeling and documentation including family creation worksharing and coordination.
- Strong coordination skills with architecture structures electrical and mechanical disciplines; familiarity with Navisworks.
- Practical understanding of ICT/security system documentation conventions (e.g. CCTV access control intercom intrusion/duress pathways/backbone comms rooms).
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online sites for project teams including permissions libraries metadata and version control.
- Relevant Microsoft 365/SharePoint certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months) demonstrating SharePoint administration competencyfor example a Microsoft 365 Administrator/Enterprise Administrator credential or equivalent industry-recognised certification.
- Strong attention to detail proactive communication and ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a multidiscipline environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360 Bluebeam and issue tracking workflows.
- Familiarity with Australian standards and typical client expectations for security/ICT documentation.
- Experience in secure environments (e.g. Defence critical infrastructure justice aviation health).
- Capability to develop and maintain Revit families templates and QA checklists.
- Relevant drafting/technical qualification (e.g. Diploma/Advanced Diploma) or equivalent experience.
- Additional Microsoft 365 certifications with a SharePoint administration focus are highly regarded.
Security Clearance
- You must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance.
- Australian citizenship is a mandatory requirement to obtain a Security Clearance.
