Who are we looking for
Were looking for a System Administrator to join our EUC Application Packaging team.
You will be responsible for modern software deployment to enable our people in the winning and delivery of work to GHD clients.
You will produce and deliver modern enterprise-ready application packages for Windows 11 using Microsoft Intune (Win32) PowerShell automation and MSIX. Delivering repeatable documented packages with robust detection uninstall upgrade/supersedence and structured testing ensuring high quality secure and reliable application deployment aligned to modern endpoint management.
This role will suit an experienced Application Packager able to bring modern skills to enhance the capability of the high-performing team and focused on quality delivery.
In this role you will:
- Create and optimize application packages in MSIX MSI and Intune win formats for enterprise deployment.
- Design and implement Win32 Intune packages with advanced detection logic dependency management and dynamic assignment policies.
- Develop robust PowerShell scripts using PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) for automated installation configuration and uninstallation workflows.
- Assist application virtualization efforts using app attach and manage packaging for both persistent and non-persistent environments.
- Troubleshoot complex compatibility issues legacy dependencies and runtime conflicts using advanced techniques.
- Collaborate with Security Compliance and other teams to ensure packaging meets Zero Trust security requirements including app hardening and vulnerability patching.
- Test and validate packages to ensure quality and performance.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation of packaging standards processes and compliance requirements.
- Support migration initiatives from legacy packaging formats to modern solutions including MSIX adoption for Windows 11 compatibility.
- Partner with endpoint administrators to deploy via Microsoft Intune Company Portal assignment rings and phased rollouts.
What would you bring to the team
- 3-5 years of experience in enterprise application packaging and deployment.
- Demonstrated experience packaging and deploying apps via Microsoft Intune.
- Strong PowerShell skills for packaging automation.
- Solid understanding of Windows application install technologies.
- Experience with MSIX packaging signing identity capabilities and troubleshooting install issues.
- Ability to diagnose packaging issues using logs and tools (msiexec logs ProcMon-style thinking event logs).
- Strong documentation discipline.
- Release-minded: can work to change windows ring deployments and rollback readiness.
- Stakeholder engagement: vendors app owners security service desk EUC system administrators.
- Familiarity with PatchMyPC (Cloud)
