  • Permanent Full-Time 80 hours per fortnight (1 FTE)

About the Role

As a Kaiawhina with CAFS you will play an essential role in engaging with rangatahi and their whānau building trusting relationships and supporting them to navigate health and social services. Each day offers variety - from facilitating whakawhanaungatanga and providing practical support to assisting clinicians in delivering individualised interventions that help rangatahi achieve their goals.

Youll be a valued member of the multidisciplinary team contributing to culturally responsive recoveryfocused care. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people committed to equity and confident working alongside whānau within a mental health context.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Ngā Harakeke mai Rongokako Child Adolescent & Family Services (CAFS) is part of our Mental Health and Addictions team in Te Matau a Māui Hawkes Bay. Our team works collaboratively with rangatahi whānau clinicians Māori health services and community partners to deliver holistic strengthsbased care.

About you

As a Kaiawhina you bring a compassionate approach strong relationshipbuilding skills and cultural responsiveness. Ideally you will have:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 4) or be working toward it (or willing to begin within one year).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with rangatahi and whānau.
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of Māori and Pacific communities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a full NZ driver licence.
  • Experience working with youth or experience with mental health/addiction services (advantageous).
