Job Description

NOTE: This summer internship is for up to 13 weeks starting from the first day of the internship and ending no later than September 4 2026. Interns are expected to work 35 hours per week in person.

About the Team

At the NYC Department of Buildings we are responsible for ensuring the safe and lawful use of buildings and properties by enforcing the NYC Construction Codes Energy Code and Zoning Resolution. We facilitate compliant development with integrity efficiency and professionalism. The Budget Management unit is responsible for the development and monitoring of the Departments revenue expense and capital budgets.

Position Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the Deputy Director Budget Planning the intern will:



-Assist Budget Management and Procurement unit with implementation development of resource management and tracking system

-Review and data enter agencywide Other than Personnel Services (OTPS) spending plans and procurement requests

-Upload and organize supporting documents within the system

-Providing customer service assistance to the end users when applicable

-Create Standard of Operations and/or End-User manual

Qualifications :

As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program June - August each year.
