About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Senior Manager: Research & Development will provide strategic leadership and oversight for research development and policy initiatives. The role involves managing the research unit ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of research projects guiding policy formulation and driving knowledge dissemination to support informed decision-making.

Requirements and Responsibilities

Key Requirements:

• Recognised qualification at NQF Level 9 preferably in Education Public Policy or a related field
• NQF Level 10 qualification will be advantageous
• Minimum of 8 years relevant managerial experience in research development publishing and policy coordination
• International exposure in the Education sector will be an advantage
• Strong knowledge of the legislative and regulatory environment in education

• Develop and implement a strategic research and knowledge management agenda
• Provide strategic advice on emerging trends in research and policy direction
• Manage and oversee delivery of research projects ensuring quality and compliance
• Implement processes to enhance operational efficiency and support international collaboration
• Secure external funding opportunities and manage stakeholder relations
• Align policies and initiatives with national continental and international trends
• Develop and manage the research units budget
• Oversee reporting audits and compliance with internal and external regulations
• Lead mentor and develop staff fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• Provide strategic advice to the executive leadership
