Job Summary:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides appropriate nursing care as directed by a Registered Nurse in a long-term care/transitional care setting. The LVN is responsible for gathering and reporting data carrying out orders and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner.
Location:Seattle Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Gathering and reporting patient data.
- Carrying out physician orders.
- Performing therapeutic procedures on patients.
- Providing direct patient care functions under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Floating between like units as needed typically spending 3 shifts/24 hours in TCU and floating to other areas for the remaining time.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
- BCLS certification.
- 2 years of skilled long-term care/transitional care experience.
- Experience with central line blood draws.
- Experience with central line dressing changes.
- Experience with IV pumps.
- Experience starting IVs.
- Previous travel experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines.
- 2 years of experience in direct patient care.
Special Considerations:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Expected to work every weekend (Friday - Sunday shift).
- May need to float between like units.
- Facility may call off traveler UP TO 1 shift per pay period (every 2 weeks).
Scheduling:
- 3 x 8hr NOC shifts (Friday - Sunday).
- Open to accommodating block schedules.
