Job Summary

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking to inspire pupils in a stimulating and supportive environment A well-regarded Independent secondary school in Ipswich is seeking a talented Science Teacher to join its successful Science department. This is a full-time permanent position available from September or sooner.

About the Role
As a Science Teacher you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 and potentially Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism. You will inspire pupils to develop scientific knowledge practical skills and analytical thinking fostering curiosity and a love of learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Teaching practical experiments and investigations safely and effectively

  • Supporting pupils in developing scientific knowledge enquiry skills and problem-solving abilities

  • Assessing pupil progress and providing timely constructive feedback

  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities

  • Contributing to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Supporting extracurricular activities such as science clubs STEM projects and competitions

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Have strong subject knowledge in Science

  • Be confident delivering engaging and practical lessons

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Be committed to supporting pupils academic progress and scientific curiosity

  • Work collaboratively within a department to deliver high-quality outcomes
