Job Summary
Project Overview
Client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager / Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and support Agile Release Train (ART) activities within a SAFe environment. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement coordinating Program Increment (PI) planning and execution and ensuring smooth collaboration across multiple Agile teams.
The RTE will guide a team of teams operating within an Agile Release Train ensuring effective delivery strong flow metrics and successful execution of features and capabilities. Candidates with current hands-on RTE experience leading ART and PI planning activities are strongly preferred.
Local candidates near the Atlanta GA hub are preferred with flexible onsite requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Program Increment (PI) Planning & ART Ceremonies
- Plan organize and facilitate key Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies including:
- Program Increment (PI) Planning
- ART Sync
- Product Owner (PO) Sync
- Scrum of Scrums
- ART System Demos
- Inspect & Adapt sessions
- Monitor progress escalate issues and coordinate resolution of cross-team dependencies.
PI Execution & Delivery Management
- Support successful execution of Program Increments (PI) across the ART.
- Track feature delivery and execution through ART Kanban.
- Ensure teams meet the Definition of Done and maintain delivery quality.
- Encourage cross-team collaboration aligned with SAFe practices and frameworks.
Delivery Metrics & Flow Management
- Establish and monitor ART flow metrics and dashboards to track performance and maturity.
- Oversee reporting and analysis related to delivery and program progress including:
- Program Boards
- Delivery Plans
- PI Predictability
- Feature/PBI Burndown
- Cycle Time and Velocity
- Status reporting and OKRs
Governance & Tool Management
- Govern best practice usage of Azure DevOps (ADO) within the ART.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through ADO queries audits and team coaching.
- Provide guidance and training to teams on effective use of Agile planning tools.
Release Coordination & Risk Management
- Facilitate agreement on milestones release cadence and increment planning.
- Coordinate deployment and release activities across the ART.
- Manage and track ART and solution-level dependencies.
- Work closely with business product and delivery teams to identify and resolve risks or impediments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) leading Agile Release Trains and PI Planning activities.
- Experience working within SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environments.
- Experience with Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Background in wealth management or the financial services industry is preferred.
