UPKEEP OF EARNED MEDIA RESOURCES
Update and input into Midwest Communications Master Media List across key markets like Chicago Detroit Minneapolis Indianapolis Kansas City and more
Monitor for media coverage on daily basis maintain media coverage tracker across programs throughout the internship
Support the Communications Specialist and Communications Manager with Coverage Database inputs/missing coverage
Share regular media insights and updates across region with Communications team
MEDIA MATERIALS & OUTREACH
Draft media lists pitches and press releases across relevant projects
Pitch select local media across broadcast (radio/TV) print/digital and social-first accounts across relevant regional projects
Uncover new social-first earned media accounts in our relevant markets and make introductions/new relationships
Assist with seeding kits for products and projects (media lists garnering mailing addresses etc.)
ON-SITE EVENT SUPPORT
Draft shot lists and photo briefs for hired photographers in advance of event day
Provide in-person support on site with various tasks like assisting photographers hosting media and other communications logistics
Pre- and post-event select media outreach
Assist with owned article needs (reviewing articles providing necessary post-event materials etc.)
Qualifications :
Actively enrolled in college/university as an undergraduate or graduate student
Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
Demonstrated initiative through academics work experience or extracurricular involvement
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A growth mindset with the ability to learn quickly adapt to new environments and incorporate feedback
Additional Information :
The compensation for this position is $28 per hour.
