NEEDED: Material Handlers
LOCATION: 9000 Rockville Pike Bethesda MD 20892
Patient care and clinical research community:
- Clinical Center 234 bed clinical research hospital
- Ambulatory Care Research Facility
- Clinical Research Center
SCHEDULE: The Clinical Center hospital and Ambulatory Care Research Facility operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year (366 days during leap years) including holidays. 40 hours per week during normal business hours Monday-Friday excluding Federal holidays. However work can run past business hours and flexibility will be needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in support of healthcare operations
- Excellent customer service skills able to work with very diverse cultures
- Competent at basic computer skills such as email and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable with reading and writing English labels and instructions
- Ability to operate required warehouse material handling equipment (such as but not limited to
- Tuggers and Transporters and including the electric pallet jack electric forklift order picker and
- Applying thorough knowledge of the physical distribution functions of material receiving storage issuing and preservation
- Ability to determine sequence for loading materials and organizing incoming shipments for maximum space utilization safety considerations and damage protection; and
- Ability to transport deliver and secure the various commodities in accordance with established procedures.
- Comfortable to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time and to bend stoop and work deep reach) in tiring sometimes uncomfortable positions lift and carry items that weigh up to 40 pounds.
JOB DUTIES:
Support medical surgical supply/equipment procurement and distribution biomedical equipment safety and maintenance and provide a clean environment for patients staff and the public under the supervision of the MMESD Chief.
