Position: Material Handler II
Location: Tewksbury MA - 01876
Duration: 6 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: 1st Shift
Summary:
- The Material Handler II is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement storage and control of materials within the facility.
- This role supports production warehouse and shipping operations by ensuring materials are received handled and distributed in compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
- The position requires intermediate-level experience and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Receive inspect and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately pick pack stage and ship materials according to work orders and customer requirements.
- Perform inventory transactions in ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counting and reconciliation.
- Transport materials using forklifts pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- Ensure proper labeling storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Support production by delivering materials to designated workstations in a timely manner.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Identify and report discrepancies quality issues or process improvements.
- Assist in training Material Handler I employees as needed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of warehouse or material handling experience.
- Experience with ERP systems or warehouse management systems.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
