The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Canterbury regional team as a Civil Structures Department this role you will ultimately be responsible for effectively managing the safety quality efficiency and financial success of the Civil Structures Construction Department.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Oversee daily operational activities including resourcing and programming of works.
  • Be a champion of Health and Safety with a keen focus on continuous culture enhancement
  • Manage financial performance and reporting
  • Manage the training and development of staff while fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment
  • Be responsible for preparation of tenders and controlling forward workload for the department
  • Effectively manage client relationshipsto ensure continued success both internally and externally to Fulton Hogan.
  • Ensure business objectives are met for growth and performance

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Previous proven management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of civil engineering and infrastructure. Broadly across concrete pad construction retaining walls bridge and culvert works foundation construction works timber wharf repairs and rock revetment works.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation standards and procedures
  • A focus on safety and compliance
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong focus on people safety and quality
  • Problem solving abilities
