Description
This on-site contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical practice environment delivering high-quality patient care and supporting surgical teams.
In this role you will collaborate closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall efficiency of surgical operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in the cardiothoracic surgery unit
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Participate in surgical procedures as needed
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards
Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant license in the state of practice
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related field preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of medical software and electronic health records
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts 7 on/7 off
No call requirement
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
Patient Census: Up to 10-15 per day
Will serve as first assist for CABG ECMO and EVH procedures
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
