Receiving Clerk
The Receiving Clerk checks all coils that enter the site. Once quality is confirmed they release the coils for production via the ERP system. The Receiving Clerk operates the overhead crane to unload coils and provide production with necessary goods.
The Receiving Clerk receives from production colleagues the production order to follow according to priority as well as oral and/or written instructions recorded in SharePoint. They also receive the reception planning from the administrative receptionist and tasks from supervisors.
- Follows the ERP (which indicates which coil must be placed on which machine)
- Positions coils on the carousel
- Unloads coil trucks
- Stacks coils by type and supplier in designated locations
- Follows instructions from superiors to improve working methods and avoid complaints or damage
- Adapts to changes in work priorities
- Prepares removes stores and unloads equipment as requested within the appropriate timeframe
- Maintains order and cleanliness
- Repackages coils and disposes of waste
- Respects the environment
- Ensures and monitors the quality and stability of coil stacking
- Ensures and monitors safety
- Communicates and reports all relevant information to superiors to enable performance reporting to management by completing the end-of-shift sheet
(recording everything done during the shift)
- Assists fellow crane operators when needed
- Charges the battery of the 8-ton forklift
- Loads coils for subcontractors
- Monitors the FIFO system in coil consumption when preparing machines
- Separates rejected/blocked coils from other stock
- Inspects delivered coils (thickness inner diameter outer diameter width etc.) according to the Mother Coil Inspection document
- Removes the Q (blocked coil) in the ERP
- Checks remaining material on machines (difference in consumption) code 914 in the ERP
- Applies labels to coils
- Assists during inventory and cycle counts
- Performs 5S audits according to instructions
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the warehouse (coil locations)
- Product knowledge
- Warehouse knowledge
- Ability to use the scanner
- Ability to operate a front forklift
- Forklift license
- Ground-operated overhead crane license
- SAP computer skills: ability to consult SAP transactions
