Grinding Supervisor Grinding
The grinding operators main responsibility is to grind points to all required dimensions and geometries found on the drawing.
Essential Job Duties:
- Prepares grinding machine for operation by cleaning work area organizing tools and reviewing documentation.
- Set-up grinder using no more than two strips of product to bring parts into tolerance. If adjustments are to be made in set-up to make parts acceptable use only the original two strips (often strips can be cut several times to get adjustments made).
- Completely follows product handling procedures all product handled with care and within procedural guidelines.
- Use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product.
- Record measurement requirements and tolerances on router.
- Measure parts at beginning middle and end of run (or as necessary) and records data on router.
- Monitor output during shift to insure that standard run rates are achieved.
- Alert floor technician work leader or supervisor of any problems with machine and/or quality of product produced.
- Complete all associated documentation required (work travelers output logs etc.) per Medical Device Manufacturing company Standard Operating Procedure.
- Communicates pertinent pass down information to the group-leader supervisor and/or next operator.
- Understands attendance policy shows up at station ready to work promptly and works specified hours.
- Review and understand daily work schedule.
- Understands importance and follows safety policies and procedures
- Ability to stand throughout eight-hour shift.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Clean organize work area upon completion of shift.
- Performs other duties as required.

knowledge of various units of measure such as inch foot and yard.
Language: Ability to read and understand product labels policies construction diagrams safety instructions.
Speaking: Ability to convey detailed messages department supervisor and other employees.
Hearing: Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication both in person and via telephone and two-way radio.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of two to three years of experience in operating a setting up machines. Machine operations such as tool die and machining parts is preferred. Previous experience working on surface grinding is preferred. It is essential that the operators be able to use various measuring devices and read blueprints to ensure proper tolerances of finished product.
