Grinding Supervisor JWMNT/Cutting-Grinding
The ECM operators main responsibilities are to slot notch stylets and tubes trim to length and point stylets to all required dimensions found on the drawing. It is the operators responsibility to set up and operate the ECM Grinders. This includes preparing (dressing) the grinding wheels to meet specific geometries and adjusting processes throughout the production run to meet all print specifications.
Essential Job Duties:
- Prepares cutting machine for operation by cleaning work area organizing tools and reviewing documentation.
- Completely follows product handling procedures and guidelines.
- Record measurement requirements and tolerances on router.
- Ensure proper working conditions of all ECM Grinding fixtures and ancillary tooling.
- Measure parts at beginning middle and end of run (or as necessary) and records data on router.
- Use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product.
- Monitor output during shift to insure that standard run rates are achieved.
- Alert floor technician work leader or supervisor of any problems with machine and/or quality of product produced.
- Complete all associated documentation required (work travelers output logs etc.) per Company Standard Operating Procedure.
- Understands attendance policy shows up at station ready to work promptly and works specified hours.
- Review and understand daily work schedule.
- Understands importance and follows safety policies and procedures
- Communicates pertinent pass down information to the group-leader supervisor and/or next operator.
- Ability to stand throughout eight hour shift.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Clean organize work area upon completion of shift.
- Performs other duties as required.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Fully enclosed shoes. Standards on safety equipment can be found in the departments Hazard Assessment book.

Strains/Sprains: Possibility greatly reduced by using proper lifting and product handling.
Burns: Unlikely
CTS/Tenacities: Possibility greatly reduced by varying jobs throughout the shift.

Calculations: Addition subtraction multiplication division decimals and percentages;
knowledge of various units of measure such as inch foot and yard.
Language: Ability to read and understand product labels policies diagrams safety instructions.
Speaking: Ability to convey detailed messages department supervisor and other employees.
Hearing: Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication both in person and via telephone.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of two to three years of experience operating and setting up machines. Machine operations such as tool die and machining parts is preferred. Previous experience working on surface grinding is preferred. It is essential that the operators be able to use various measuring devices and read a blueprint to ensure proper tolerances of finished product.
