Primary Purpose:
The Coordinator of Student Well-Being and Support will champion the development and integration of a positive school culture by leading initiatives that foster student well-being resilience and academic success. This role focuses on cultivating a safe inclusive and supportive environment by implementing student support programs interpreting well-being data guiding curriculum related to student development and collaborating closely with district and campus teams to meet both social and academic needs of students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors Degree required Masters Degree preferred
- TEA Professional School Counselor Certification preferred
- Professional Teaching Certification preferred
- Experience in data analysis and applying data-driven decision-making to improve student outcomes and support stems.
- Proven experience in coordinating with external agencies or partners to enhance school or district support services.
- Previous experience in leading or collaborating on initiatives that promote school climate culture and inclusivity with measurable impacts on student engagement and academic outcomes.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Service-oriented and knowledgeable of effective school culture climate and responsive support practices
- Skill in coaching for performance improvement
- Ability to interpret data evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for growth
- Strong communication public relations and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative decision-making and team-building skills
- Expertise in student support strategies school climate and well-being best practices
- Demonstrates strong intrapersonal skills to develop collaborative relationships with district personnel and community agencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of guidance curriculum and the ability to design develop and deliver standards-aligned guidance lessons.
Experience:
- Classroom experience required
- Minimum of 3 years of counseling experience at the elementary and/or secondary level preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Leadership and Support:
- Oversee student support programs projects and strategies working with both internal and external partners for successful implementation.
- Provide operational support to ensure consistent district-wide integration of student support structures focusing on academic and emotional growth.
Vision for Student Support:
- Lead and develop the vision for student well-being programs across the district setting standards that span grades PK-12 and focusing on sustainable program development.
- Establish clear goals for student support guiding both district and campus leaders in strategic execution.
- Professional Development and Coaching:
- Design and implement professional development sessions for leaders and teachers on topics related to student well-being responsive practices and climate building.
- Provide coaching and support to school leaders and staff enhancing student experiences in support programs and contributing to a positive school climate.
Data-Informed Practices:
- Administer collect and analyze surveys and other data related to student well-being using insights to refine support programs and foster continuous improvement aligned with district goals.
- Conduct formal evaluations of well-being initiatives to assess their impact on school climate and student outcomes.
Guidance Curriculum and Collaboration:
- Partner with the Guidance and Counseling Department to coordinate and oversee the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program aligning student support initiatives with curriculum requirements.
- Work closely with curriculum team members to integrate student well-being practices into existing courses and extracurricular activities.
- Support the implementation of the districts Guidance and Counseling curriculum by developing guidance lessons instructional resources and tools aligned to the Guidance and Counseling Departments vision and program expectations.
- Resource Development and External Partnerships:
- Manage partnerships with organizations and pursue grant opportunities to enhance district support services.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to expand resources available for student well-being.
Communication and Community Engagement:
- Engage parents students and community members promoting involvement and understanding of the districts student support efforts.
- Support students parents and educators with relevant information and resources for academic and personal growth opportunities.
Working Conditions:
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Frequent district-wide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
- Occasional prolonged standing or sitting.
- Able to lift at least 25 pounds
