Registered Nurse (RN) Ortho Department

Work hours: PRN Days (6:45a :7:15p) PRN I requires a minimum of 1 shift per 6 week schedule

Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

36 bed Orthopedic Trauma/ Joint Replacement Unit in the brand new Justin Tower- Care for patients with joint replacements but may include ortho procedures with a variety of concurrent medical issues such as CHF COPD asthma diabetes renal failure. This is the dept where the most effective improvements of patients are seen. Great supportive Leadership team

Heres What You Need

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program

BSN preferred

One-year experience as a clinical nurse required.

Current BLS (required) expiration date greater than 3 months preferred.

CPI training within 60 days of hire (required)

2 years of Med/surg or Orthopedic RN experience in acute care setting (preferred)

Strong med/surg experience including charge/preceptor skills (preferred)

ONC Orthopedic Nurse Certified within 2 years (preferred)

Situational Leadership style/approachable.

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate

Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift inter-hospital and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
