Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for an exciting potential opportunity supporting the Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton Ohio.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Certification (Required)
Candidates must possess current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through one of the following:
American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
American Medical Technologists (AMT)
American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
Experience
Additional Requirements
Ability to meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements
Maintain active certification and required continuing education
Ability to speak read and write English fluently
Technical proficiency in clinical laboratory procedures and equipment
Key Responsibilities
Medical Laboratory Technicians will perform a variety of laboratory procedures supporting patient care including:
Perform laboratory testing procedures in areas such as hematology chemistry microbiology urinalysis serology and blood banking
Prepare and evaluate patient specimens for analysis
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
Perform quality control procedures and maintain accurate laboratory records
Identify equipment malfunctions and assist with troubleshooting
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and infection control standards
Assist with specimen preparation and transport
Maintain proper documentation in accordance with VA policies and procedures
Job Offers:
