Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced Artisan Diesel Mechanic to join their Transport Workshop team in Mutare.
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting diagnosing servicing and repairing diesel vehicles and related equipment to ensure optimal fleet availability and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults in diesel engines and vehicle systems using manual and computerized diagnostic tools.
- Conduct inspections and identify mechanical issues in vehicles and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing including services on diesel vehicles.
- Repair or replace worn damaged or defective mechanical components.
- Carry out basic automotive maintenance including oil changes tyre replacement and component adjustments.
- Test and verify vehicle performance through inspections and test drives after repairs or servicing.
- Monitor and maintain diagnostic machinery and workshop equipment for optimal performance.
- Complete and submit accurate job cards and maintenance records for all work carried out.
- Supervise and guide Assistant Motor Mechanics and Apprentices to improve productivity and skills development.
- Ensure strict compliance with workshop Standard Operating Procedures and vehicle inspection standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain workshop housekeeping standards and report incidents or equipment defects promptly.
- Carry out any other related duties as assigned by management.

- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently.
- Good understanding of workshop maintenance procedures and standards.

Qualifications:
- At least 5 O Levels including Mathematics and English.
- National Certificate in Motor Mechanics or related discipline.
- Skilled Worker Class 1 certification.
- Apprentice trained in motor mechanics or diesel mechanics.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a mechanical workshop environment.
- Experience using computerized vehicle diagnostic equipment.
